Handleless costs more
Profile-handle and push-to-open shutters look cleaner and add to the price. A simple edge-pull profile is the middle path.

MDF, commercial plywood or BWP marine plywood, same as a kitchen. Bedrooms are drier than kitchens, so commercial plywood is usually sufficient throughout.
Shutter finish
Laminate, membrane, acrylic, PU or veneer. On a large wardrobe elevation, the finish choice is the biggest single swing in the total.
Internal fittings
Hanging rods, shelves, drawers, mirror units, tie and belt racks, pull-down hanger rails. Drawers cost considerably more than open shelves — decide how many you actually need.
Loft storage
The section above the wardrobe up to the ceiling. It adds elevation and therefore cost, but it is the cheapest storage per rupee you will ever buy in a flat.
Mirror and lighting
Integrated mirrors, LED profile lighting and sensor lights are priced separately. Lighting inside a deep wardrobe is genuinely useful.
Back panel
Check whether a full back panel is included or the wardrobe simply uses the wall. A proper back panel keeps clothes off damp masonry.

Is a sliding wardrobe always more expensive than hinged?
For the same size, finish and material, yes — the track and roller system adds cost. The reason to choose sliding is space, not price: if the bed sits close to the wardrobe, hinged shutters will not open properly.
Should I take the loft above the wardrobe?
In a flat, almost always. You are already paying for the site visit, the material run and the installation, so the extra elevation is the cheapest storage you will add to the home.
Do I need marine plywood in a bedroom?
Usually not throughout. Bedrooms stay dry, so commercial plywood is normally sufficient. If the wardrobe shares a wall with a bathroom, we would use a water-resistant board on that side.
How much space does a wardrobe need in front?
For hinged shutters allow enough clearance for the widest door to swing fully open. If you cannot, sliding is the answer. We check this during the site measurement.
Can you match a new wardrobe to my existing bed?
Often yes. Bring a photograph or let us see it during the site visit, and we will match the laminate or veneer as closely as the current range allows.
